What do you do?

I am trying to bring our girls up to be well rounded. I like to give them open ended toys to play with ie: wooden blocks, duplo, fuzzy felt, crayons & blank paper (they don't need colouring in books)......I don't believe they need toys like 'Barbie' & princess dolls at such young ages. BUT when they are given toys that I think are inappropriate by their grandparents ie: girly magazines that had a princess crown & wand attached, princess colouring in books.....what do I do?? Make them mysteriously disappear? Let them look at pictures of 'Hannah Montana' & 'Pink?' My eldest is 3yrs old....She doesn't need this sort of stuff to play with her mind, or to 'grow up'. I want her to be a child - to be free to be who she is.

The magazine has gone missing!!! Every time she looked at it her temper flared up and she 'changed' and became rude to me!! For no reason.....all I can say is it as a bad influence. She is usually so delghtful :)
